Bashundhara Kings booked their place in the final of the Federation Cup with a commanding 4–0 victory over Brothers Union Club in the qualifier held on Tuesday at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
Despite the muddy ground following heavy rain, Kings made a flying start as Rakib Hossain opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute, giving his side an early advantage.
After the break, Kings returned in a more organized manner and added three more goals to seal a comprehensive win. Brazilian forward Dorielton doubled the lead in the 71st minute before striking again two minutes later to complete his brace.
Midfielder Mohammad Sabbir Hossen put the result beyond doubt, netting the fourth goal in the 88th minute.
Kings dominated proceedings throughout the match, while Brothers Union struggled to find rhythm.
Despite the defeat, Brothers Union’s hopes of reaching the final are still alive. They will now face the winner of the match between Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club and Rahmatganj MFS in Cumilla. The winner of that encounter will meet Bashundhara Kings in the final.
