Bangladesh Olympic football team leave for China tomorrow

Bangladesh Olympic football team leave for China early tomorrow (Saturday) (12.50 am) to take part in the 19th Asian Games scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou.

The Olympic football team is the first batch who will go to China as the football event of the Asian Games will kick off from September 19, four days before the formal opening ceremony of the Games.

Abahani’s defender Rahmta Mia will lead the captain the Bangladesh Olympic team in the Asian Games.

Prior to the team’s departure, a press conference was held today (Friday) at Bashundhara Kings arena.

Talking to the pressmen Rahmat Mia said he played for Bangladesh in the last Asian Games. He found huge differences in the team compared to the last Asian Games. This time the team is relatively young. Many of them have never played in an event like the Asian Games. The game is a big opportunity for the young stars to prove themselves.

He said many young members of the team would try to attract the coach’s attention by performing well in the Asian Games. Coach can consider some of them for the national team after evaluating their performances in the Asian Games. So the Asian Games would be a great platform for the youngsters to prove themselves. All three of the opponents are strong in this Game.
