Bangladesh keep semifinal hope alive

The Bangladesh U-16 national football kept their semifinal hope alive as they beat Nepal by a solitary goal in their second and ultimate group A match of the SAFF U-16 Football Championship scheduled held Monday Changlimithang Stadium, Thimphu.

After the barren first half, Ashikur Rahman scored the all-important goal for Bangladesh in the 47th minute with a close range header from a corner kick.

Bangladesh will now look at the result of India-Nepal match to go to the semifinal.

Bangladesh which pitted in group A along with defending champions India and Nepal, earlier made a losing start after a solitary goal defeat to defending champions India.
