Rahmatganj, Brothers split point

Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society split point with Brothers Union Club when their match ended in a 2-2 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held at Shaheed Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

In the day’s match, Uzbek midfielder Otabek Valizhonov put Brothers Union Club ahead in the 18th minute from a penalty while Ghanian forward Ernest Boateng restored the parity for Rahmatganj in the 25th minute of the match.

After the breather, Brothers Union Club took the lead again as forward Mahbubur Rahman Sufil scored the second goal in the 67th minute, but Rahmatganj staged a brilliant fight back in the match as forward Samin Yasir Juel level the margin in the 88th minute of the match.

Earlier, the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj forced Abahani Limited, Dhaka to play a 1-1 goal draw while the Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club suffered a 2-5 goal defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings, both their respective first round matches. –BSS
