Bangladesh will face visiting Maldives in the second leg of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the city.
Private satellite Channels News 24 and T Sports will telecast the match live that kicks off at 5.45 pm.
The team that wins the second legs will advance in the race for the World Cup qualifiers.
Addressing at a pre-match press conference held today (Monday)at the conference room of Bashundhara Kings arena Bangladesh’s head coach Javier Cabrera said they are ready for the Maldives challenge in home and excited to play the match.
Team’s skipper Jamal Bhuyan said the Tuesday’s match is the match of the year for them because the match is very important for them.
The Bangladesh skipper also expressed his high hope to win the match against Maldives.
The first leg ended 1-1 with Bangladesh snatching a creditable draw in the last-minute goal scored by Saad Uddin. Now they will take to the field against Maldives to test at the home ground.
The Jamal Bhuyan and co. will qualify for the World Cup qualifiers if they win this match. Bangladesh football team will get a chance to play at least six international matches if they qualify to the next stage.
The Javier Cabrera’s men have no alternative option but to win this match if they want to go to the qualifiers of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Football Federation has fixed the ticket rates for the match in three categories. The price of VIP gallery is Taka five hundred, category one Taka two hundred and category two Taka one hundred taka.
The football lovers can collect tickets from Premier Bank in Motijheel branch and Bashundhara residential area. BSS
