Booters go through hiking on first day

After reaching Bhutan, the Bangladesh national booters passed the first day through hiking at Buddha Point today morning under the supervision of head coach Javier Cabrera.

Later, the footballers came to the hotel for swimming at the recovery session. Bangladesh national football team skipped the day’s field practice.

Defender Biswanath Ghosh speaking through a video message said they are aiming full six points against Bhutan which means that they have come in Bhutan for a mission to win both the friendly matches against the hosts.

Commenting about hiking, the defender said, “It was his first experience in life because we never took part in hiking though he enjoyed the hiking and overall all things were good.”

Forward Rakib Hossain said: “We all know Bhutan is strong team we have worked with them ….  we must want to bring a good result from Bhutan.”

The forward said their team’s ranking would be improved if they are able to win the two matches against Bhutan. It would also be a good preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup.

Rakib said the whole team took part in hiking together and enjoyed a lot. Initially it was quite difficult due to weather. The players tried to adapt to the condition.

He said it’ll be good for the team to adapt to the local weather as early as possible ahead of the two matches against Bhutan.

Head coach Javier Cabrera said they would start normal on pitch training activity from tomorrow (Sunday).  First two days is very important for the players to adapt to the altitude.

The coach said the players enjoyed a lot during the hiking and their pace was good it was a very positive first session for the players.

The Bangladesh national football team will play two away friendly matches against host Bhutan in FIFA September window. The Javier Cabrera’s men will play the first match on September 5 and the second one on September 8 in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
