Bashundhara Kings exit from AFC Cup

Ten men Bashundhara Kings hope of playing zonal semifinal play off of the AFC Cup vanished into blue as they suffered solitary goal defeat to Odisha FC in their ultimate group D match of AFC Cup held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

Bashundhara Kings needed only one point to write the history to become the country’s second club to advance to the inter-zonal semifinal after Abahani Limited but heir hope of the knock out stage remained unfulfilled.

In the second half of the match, Odisha FC continued their onslaught against the ten men Kings. In the 61st minute, Odisha’s foreign footballer Mountada Fall sent the ball home with a header from close range giving no chance to Kings goalkeeper Mehdi Hasan Shravan under the bar.

Kings were reduced to ten men as Asror Gasurov was shown red card by the referee in the 45+2nd minute of the match. BSS
