Chittagong Abahani Limited again shared point when they played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in a third round match of TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held today (Monday) at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi, Gazipur.

In the day’s match, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate scored for Mohammedan who led the first half by 1-0 goal while defender Kamrul Islam netted for Chittagong Abahani Limited.

In the proceeding, Souleymane Diabate gave Mohammedan a deserving lead scoring a goal in the 27th minute and they maintained the lead till the first half.

Chittagong Abahani Limited, however, came to the field with more organised way and immediately after got the reap just after resumption when Kamrul Islam restored the parity in the 48th minute of the match.

After that, both the teams, however, created several scoring chances, but failed to convert any of those into a goal in the remaining proceeding.

Mohammedan was reduced to 10 men in the 90+1st minute when their defender Masud Rana Mredha got the marching order by the referee following his double yellow cards.

With the day’s outcome, both Mohammedan and Chittagong Abahani Limited both raised their tally to equal five points from three matches.

Mohammedan SC will play their next match against Saif SC on Friday

(Feb 18) at Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadiumin Munshiganj while Chittagong Abahani Limited will meet Swadhinata Krira Sangha on Saturday (Feb 19) at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi.

Earlier, Chittagong Abahani beat Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-1 goals in their league opening match and played to a 1-1 goal draw with Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in their second match of the league.

On the other hand, Mohammedan split points with Sheikh Russel KC playing to a 1-1 goal draw in their opening match and edged past new comers Swadhinata Krira Sangha by a solitary goal in their second match of the league.
