With a vital point against India’s JSW Bengaluru FC secured, head coach Oscar Bruzon is now looking at Bashundhara Kings’ next challenge in Group D of the 2021 AFC Cup.
Neither side were able to find the net in their tie at the National Football Stadium on Saturday, a result which left Bangladesh champions side Bashundhara second with four points behind India’s ATK Mohun Bagan, who defeated Maziya Sports & Recreation 3-1, for their second win.
Bashundhara’s fate, however, is in their own hands as they can advance to the Inter-Zone semi-final with a win against ATK Mohun Bagan on Tuesday.
“Bashundhara are still in it and have one more chance to qualify into the next round and we are going to capitalise on this big opportunity. The result today is good for us. We played very well and although it may seem that we held back a little in the last half an hour or so, holding the result to a draw was the best option for us considering the game situation we were faced with.”-said Bashundhara Kings coach Bruzon.
